Fridolin

On October 18, 2008, a phone call reached us from campsite Anemomilos in Finikounda.

A stray cat was in terrible state. Could we please help …?

The red and white cat that would later be named Fridolin really looked horrible (see photo

). It was agreed that Swiss campsite guests - who wanted to get a stray they would take home with them vaccinated - would take Fridolin along to the vet the next day. Later we heard that Fridolin had already ducked a few attempts to catch him during summer but this night he slept right under the car that would take him to the vet the next morning and he stepped into his transport box without any fuss. He showed the same cooperation he would show throughout his one month stay with us. The vet diagnosed parasite allergy and treated accordingly. Fridolin then came to stay with us and was treated with meds and ointment for his throat. He endured treatment and emprisonment patiently and became cuddlier all the time while he had occasionally raised his paw against us in the beginning…

But not only did his throat heal completely but we also found a good home for him! Cats are not easily re-homed as there are just so many of them. On November 20 he travelled to Germany and now lives with his human Elke in Saxony. She properly spoils him and he thanks her with cuddles.

We would like to thank all those who helped us help Fridolin, we could not have done this alone.
